In general, the larger your move is, the further in advance you should get something on the books. We recommend booking at least two weeks in advance for a smaller apartment move, and at least a month in advance for a larger home or a pack-and-move project that could stretch into multiple days.

For long distance, we recommend 4-6 weeks in advance to ensure we have time to set up the logistics of your long-distance move.

If you book in advance, you’re likely to save money! Most companies will have flexible rates depending on the season and the time of the month. The end of the month — usually after the 25th — is typically the busiest and commands the highest rates, and the summer season will always be more expensive than the winter season. If you get on the calendar before the schedule starts to fill up, especially for weekend dates, there’s a good chance companies will be more willing to give a better rate.
