Giving Back To Our Community
Seattle has been very kind to us over the years, and we love to give back to the community in whatever ways we’re able.
Move For Hunger
Eco Movers partners with Move For Hunger to collect food donations for the less fortunate, not just during the holidays, but year-round.
Move For Hunger works with companies across the United States and Canada, and has delivered more than 11,479,245 pounds of food. Eco Movers is one of the Seattle area’s most active members, having provided hundreds of meals to members of our local community.
If you’d like to participate, simply let your crew know that you’d like to donate some of your nonperishable food items to Move For Hunger when you are moving with us. We’ll load up the items you’d like to donate (customers often clear out good portions of their pantry) and our crew will bring the donations back to the warehouse.
We will then deliver donations to one of our local food banks, empowering our community partners to make a direct impact on our community members.
We also work with several apartment communities and businesses that organize food drives with their residents and employees, often hundreds of pounds of donations at once! Interested in setting up a food drive at your community or business? Visit www.moveforhunger.org or give us a call at (206) 971-6895 for more information.
Mary’s Place
Mary’s Place is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe, inclusive shelter and services that support women, children, and families on their journey out of homelessness. Their vision is to ensure that no one’s child sleeps outside.
Eco Movers partners with Mary’s Place to facilitate easy furniture donations for all of our clients. If you’re moving and have items you no longer need, simply let our team know, and we can take them with us after your move and donate them to Mary’s Place to help support families in need.
Seattle Parks Foundation
We are committed to giving back to our community in more ways than one. The Seattle Parks Foundation * matches this enthusiasm, creating positive change not only in our community, but the environment as well!
Their efforts go towards increasing Seattle’s tree canopy, creating community centers that are more climate resilient, stormwater restoration and improving the local urban food system by supporting garden and urban farm projects.
EarthGen
EarthGen * guides and supports youth, educators, and school communities to become leaders for a healthy environment. Through EarthGen’s science-based, action-oriented programs, young people gain the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to think critically, act with purpose, and bring others together to solve the challenges we face.
With a focus on underserved communities across Washington state, EarthGen works to ensure that every young person can learn and take action to create a just and sustainable world.
Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity * is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states and in approximately 70 other countries. Their vision is to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live by building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable housing.
We wholeheartedly support the incredible work that Habitat for Humanity does to improve the lives of individuals and families. If you’re looking to make a difference, consider donating furniture or contributing to their efforts in any way you can—every little bit helps in building stronger communities!
We are always looking for new ways to assist our local community. Please contact us if you are interested in working with us to make Seattle and the surrounding areas a better place for everyone!
* Organizations marked by an asterisk are no longer current partnerships, however, Eco Movers has teamed up with these community programs in the past and wanted to preserve their place here in order to amplify their message and spread awareness for their teams.
