A Special Holiday Delivery
Recently, our team joined forces with Mary’s Place and a local hotel to deliver furniture for two small apartments. The effort helped families transition from hardship to stability, just in time for the holiday season.
First Family: A 43-year-old single mother and her 4-year-old daughter escaped a domestic violence situation in New Orleans. With nowhere to go, they spent months sleeping in their car before finding refuge at Mary’s Place. Receiving a fully furnished home through this initiative brought not only physical relief for the mother, who suffers from a disability, but also a sense of renewed dignity and hope.
Second Family: A young couple from Trinidad, along with their 1-year-old son, came to the U.S. seeking safety and opportunity. After a difficult period of living unsheltered, Mary’s Place provided them with shelter and resources. Our furniture delivery gave them their first real home, allowing them to focus on building a stable future for their family.
The Heart of the Holidays
The spirit of Christmas came alive during these deliveries. Two members of a local hotel joined us to stage the homes with Mary’s Place representatives, ensuring every piece of furniture found the perfect spot. As a finishing touch, the families received beautifully arranged spaces to celebrate their first holiday season in their new homes.
