Why We Love Mercer Island

Mercer Island was named after Judge Thomas Mercer, a prominent pioneer in the Seattle area.
Mercer was an advocate for the early development of the region, and his influence is still recognized in the area today.

A Tranquil Island Community With Deep Roots: Mercer Island has grown into a serene residential haven in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. Originally home to the Duwamish people, its history stretches back thousands of years. The island’s modern development began in the late 19th century when settlers were attracted by its lush landscapes and proximity to burgeoning Seattle. Today, Mercer Island is known for its tight-knit community, beautiful parks, and commitment to preserving its natural surroundings, maintaining its identity as a peaceful yet connected island retreat.

Lush Parks & Stunning Vistas: Mercer Island is home to numerous beautiful parks and breathtaking views, offering a perfect retreat for nature enthusiasts and residents alike. Luther Burbank Park, with its waterfront access and serene trails, provides a peaceful escape, while Mercerdale Park is a community hub with open spaces for relaxation and events. Whether you’re enjoying the panoramic views of Lake Washington or exploring the woodlands of Pioneer Park, Mercer Island’s natural beauty shines through, making it a cherished green oasis in the Pacific Northwest.

A Culinary Scene Rich in Diversity: Mercer Island may be a small community, but it boasts a delightful array of culturally diverse restaurants and markets that reflect the broader Puget Sound area’s culinary richness. From cozy spots offering Mediterranean flavors to Asian-inspired eateries, the island’s dining options cater to a range of tastes. Local markets and cafes also provide fresh, high-quality ingredients and meals, making Mercer Island a hidden gem for food lovers seeking variety and quality in a serene setting.

Amazing service! We used Eco Movers several years ago and they performed miracles back then so it was an easy choice to go with them again. They did not disappoint. Turned out I didn’t know how to do a move inventory. I only included the big items and not the army of boxes we had assembled. Kind of unavoidable since we were packing up to the last minute, but could have at least given an estimate. They informed me of that this could mean two trips since they had a smaller truck for a smaller move. But somehow, again miraculously, they managed some physics-defying Tetris to get everything in the truck. Astounding feat. They were pleasant, friendly, and totally professional the entire time. Got our move done in great time with no issues. Just amazing! Cannot recommend Eco Movers enough 😄

This was my second time using Eco Movers, and Quincy and Dwayne were absolutely amazing. They were even better than the first crew I worked with, and I had a good experience that time as well. They helped us move a large antique dining room set down a long set of concrete stairs, which was no easy task. The set included a very heavy buffet and hutch with a large piece of marble. Quincy and Dwayne carefully took everything apart, wrapped each piece extremely well, and handled the entire set with a tremendous amount of care. What impressed me just as much was their attitude and professionalism. Both of them had a great demeanor, were extremely respectful, and stayed positive throughout the entire move. You could tell they cared about doing the job right and protecting the furniture. I would absolutely use Eco Movers again, and I would specifically request Quincy and Dwayne. They did an outstanding job and made a difficult move look easy. Highly recommend!

We had the best moving experience with Eco Movers! The team was polite, professional, and went above and beyond. I truly appreciate the care they took with all of our belongings. Furniture was carefully wrapped, there is not a scratch on a wall, and nothing was damaged; they did everything seamlessly. The guys worked so well as a team and had fun doing it! Thank you so much Myron, Papani and Cody!

I have moved countless times, and I can say, hands down, that hiring Eco Movers was the best thing I could have done with my last move. They are affordable; especially considering how professional, friendly, careful and fast Anthony and Jean Catlos are. They had my belongings out and packed in no time at all, then drove all of it across the water on a ferry, with not one incident. They even moved my plants! And not one leaf was bent or damaged at all. They thoughtfully placed everything in an orderly way at my new spot as well, with the same care they'd shown through the entire move. I've never written a review for any of the moving companies I've worked with before this one, but I had to, because they truly are THAT GOOD. I have another move coming up in a couple of months, and look forward to hiring Eco Movers again.

This team did the packing for my move. They did an excellent job, were very thorough, double checked the plan with me when needed, and packed everything well without anything that was broken or had issues when we unpacked. Also very nice guys!

Growing up in a military family we moved every 2 to 3 years, often cross country or overseas. My parents were always careful packing our belongings to limit damage but often items broke or were damaged during the move. Understandably, I was nervous about the upcoming storage inbound and storage outbound move but was immediately relieved of any stress watching the professional crew at Eco Movers care for my home and belongings. The crew took great care to protect all fragile items including a 15 ft Lovesac sectional, dining chairs, TV's and kitchen items. They expertly packed and stored my belongings with zero loss or damage. They took great care to protect floors and walls even when moving heavy, bulky items. Each item was inventoried and tracked and was safely returned when I moved home. Daniela clearly explained the storage inbound and outbound process, accurately provided estimates and followed up during the process to ensure I was satisfied. I felt the cost of the move was a good value and the friendly crew made a stressful situation much more manageable. Thank you Eco Movers for taking such great care of me.

Boris from Eco-Movers has assisted in our Boats Afloat Show on move in and move out for a number of shows on South Lake Union. He is always upbeat, polite and has his crew moving efficiently and effectively. Eco-Movers has helped us for a number of years and we could not be happier with their service and I'd give a 5 star review of Boris as well if possible!

Christian as lead was great. Kept me informed during the entire move. The entire team was wonderful. Azziah's singing was delightful and such a strong worker. Hawk's years of experience was helpful and provided know how to the newer member, Andrew. Andrew was refreshing, hard working and very respectful. Lastly Christian as lead definitely took his role seriously and he worked as a team member. I cannot emphasize enough how courteous, respectful and safety conscious the team was in carrying out the tasks at hand. Thank you Graydon for all the work you did on the front end. Overall a smooth move.
